Practice Areas
There are, generally, three types of charges. Infractions are a minor charge, such as a traffic ticket. These are usually punishable by a fine and payment of Court costs. No time in jail is imposed for an infraction.
Misdemeanors are serious offenses and can be punishable by imprisonment for up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $5,000.00.
Felonies are very serious offenses and can be punishable with higher fines and imprisonment for years, if not life, in prison.
