The trauma of being in an accident is enough to deal with. You don't need the additional stress of dealing with insurance companies over the benefits that you are entitled to. Some companies may even pressure you to settle your claim prematurely. We work hard to relieve the burden on you by handling all of the legal details.
Most people involved in automobile accidents are not aware of their rights in the choice of healthcare providers and covered benefits, such as wage loss and home care. We know how to evaluate and document your claim to obtain what you are entitled to. Claims adjusters at insurance companies (including your own) are skilled negotiators who are trained to settle accident claims as quickly and cheaply as possible. We determine all available insurance coverages, communicate with your healthcare providers and review all information presented to the insurance companies. Our top priority is to allow you time for healing, without interference from an insurance company.
Once you retain our firm, we contact the responsible insurance company to ensure all future communications come directly to us, freeing you to concentrate on healing. You will not need to deal with an insurance adjuster again. We use our expertise to coordinate the benefits you may have under personal injury protection (PIP) coverages for medical bills, lost wages and home care. We also work with your healthcare providers to obtain your records for a thorough understanding of your injury.
If you are in an accident, take seriously any questions asked by insurance companies, especially if they are requesting a statement from you. Information on any healthcare prior to this accident may be used against you later. Make sure to accurately describe all symptoms and pain levels with your healthcare provider, and follow all treatment recommendations.
The statute of limitations on accidents is three years from the date on which you became aware that you had a claim. This is generally three years from the date of your accident, although shorter time periods may apply. If you have not settled your claim, or filed a lawsuit within three years of your accident, your claim will be forever barred.
